Born and raised in New Jersey, RJ moved to Tucson in 2003 after graduating college and has never looked back. RJ has always had a passion for community work. In college, as the intramural sports director, he worked with local youth sports league to help supply them with coaches and mentors.
RJ has worked for the Ott Family YMCA since 2004, starting at the front desk opening the building 3 days a week. In 2005 he moving into a full-time role as a program director. He oversaw youth and adult sports and youth programs. In March of 2019, he became the Executive Director and now focuses on board development, philanthropic efforts and day to day operation of the branch. RJ loves to see the impact the YMCA has on the community. He served in many leadership roles at the YMCA during his time, as staff chairman for the youth sports cabinet, assistant campaign director and worked as a project leader during our latest IT software change.
“It is just awesome to see kids that grew up in the YMCA coming back years later for their first job or volunteering to giving back.” He is thankful every day to have a job that allows him to have such a wonderful impact on the kids and families of his community.
When he is not working RJ enjoys playing basketball, golf, and poker, and spending time with his wife Taylor and son Chase.
RJ is thankful for this opportunity to give back to other local nonprofits and continue to make the Tucson community a better place for all.
